I wanted to wish all my readers a happy and prosperous new year. Every year I take amusement in the fact that Australia is one of the first nations to enter the new year, consequently leaving the rest of the world in the previous year. I’m sure whoever I share this thought with each year, takes more amusement in my lack of sanity. On a separate and more civilized note, Sydney definitely sent a benchmark for the rest of the world, with the traditional breath taking fireworks display. Bondi beach also went off with a bang, and although I don’t have any photos of the new years celebrations yet, I wanted to take an opportunity to flaunt the greatest beach in the world. And while I’m on the topic of showing off Sydney to the rest of the world, here’s a few pictures of the city I’d like to share. I’d like to extend a very warm thanks to Christopher Chan for capturing and allowing me to use these stunning images. If anyone would be interested in taking a look at some very talented photography, then I’d highly recommend checking out his personal website, which has some magnificent images of Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. If anyones got some images they’d like to share of their country they’d like me to post up, then please feel free to leave a comment with a link to the pictures. Alternatively, I can look around for the requested images. |

I came here for your 10 Entrecard points prize, but now I’ve seen these photos I must know - what settings did you use to get those amazing fireworks photos? Any I try to take always turn out rubbish.

You should ask Christopher Chan (http://www.christopher-chan.com/) as he took these photos. His extremely talented in what he does, and I’m sure he’d be willing to send some advice your way.

Thanks for the great pictures and the link to Christopher Chan’s site. Just bookmarked it as another interesting site for me as a would-be amateur photographer.
Good luck to everyone in 2008.

Anyone aspiring to take semi-pro and professional photos would surely stop at the site of these pictures. They are truely lovely, you owe Chan “one” for them
This is wishing you a wonderful year ahead. That reminds me, I left you a comment last time I was here about your 10 creds thingy, any change?

Those pictures are breathtaking! I’ve never been to Australia, but my dad has been talking about how he would like to take a vacation there to scuba dive for the past couple weeks…so Australia might be in my future! Perhaps I can convince him to go there to celebrate the New Year.

If you have a chance, I’d really appreciate you posting any pictures of Cronulla that you might have.
Living in Japan, in the middle of Saitama (NO beaches) I really miss the waves of my hometown.
