My List Of Useful Online Resources

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

First and foremost, I’d like to apologize for the bad grammar in my previous article. I’ve picked up on a few mistakes, and while I like to consider myself somewhat of a super hero, the reality is I’m simply a human being who over the previous few days, has managed to excessively exhaust himself. Maybe I’m being a little too harsh on myself, however I find nothing is worse than a blog post full of grammatical errors - I like to think I’m my own biggest critic, and I’d like to thank my readers for putting it with it. I’ll make every effort to ensure things remain at the high standard they’ve previously been.

On a more positive note, I thought I’d so something a little different today, and compile a list of resources I’ve at one point or another successfully employed throughout my many years online. I hope these resources will be of benefit to my readers, and while anyone can really just type in a few words into Google and retrieve the same results, I think a lot of us don’t really go out looking for some these resources because they simply haven’t crossed our mind. I’m also basing this off my own experience, and can pretty much vouch for every link in the list.

I’ve decided that I will not be employing affiliate links inside my blog posts in the foreseeable future without providing an alternative link which will directly take you to the requested destination. I’d like to give my readers the option to choose whether or not they’d like to contribute to the blog by clicking and considering registering or making a purchase on an affiliate URL. The following list is therefore completely free of affiliate links.

  • Some of you may find this list to be extremely helpful, and at the very least, a recommendation of the stated websites, while others would have probably already known all about all these websites. I know there’s a few that I’ve forgotten, and will therefore continue to update this list until my brain collapses and alien spacemen invade the world as per our contract, consequently crowning me as ruler… woops, off topic and wayy too much said.

    Happy New Year!

    Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

I wanted to wish all my readers a happy and prosperous new year. Every year I take amusement in the fact that Australia is one of the first nations to enter the new year, consequently leaving the rest of the world in the previous year. I’m sure whoever I share this thought with each year, takes more amusement in my lack of sanity. On a separate and more civilized note, Sydney definitely sent a benchmark for the rest of the world, with the traditional breath taking fireworks display.

Bondi beach also went off with a bang, and although I don’t have any photos of the new years celebrations yet, I wanted to take an opportunity to flaunt the greatest beach in the world.

And while I’m on the topic of showing off Sydney to the rest of the world, here’s a few pictures of the city I’d like to share.

I’d like to extend a very warm thanks to Christopher Chan for capturing and allowing me to use these stunning images. If anyone would be interested in taking a look at some very talented photography, then I’d highly recommend checking out his personal website, which has some magnificent images of Asia, Australia, Europe and North America.

If anyones got some images they’d like to share of their country they’d like me to post up, then please feel free to leave a comment with a link to the pictures. Alternatively, I can look around for the requested images.

    Merry Christmas!

    Monday, December 24th, 2007

Just wanted to wish everybody a Merry Christmas!

I also wanted to say that I won’t be posting for a few days, as I’ll be celebrating with some family and friends. Stay safe, and have a wonderful holiday season, and I’ll see you all soon!

    Just Testing!

    Friday, December 21st, 2007

I was talking to a friend earlier today, and I think this one wins it. I think I’ve found the most ridiculous excuse from an online business.

Basically my friend ordered something from these guys a few years ago, and he received an email recently asking him to pay $55.00. He rang their technical support department, and after leaving his phone number, he was assured the issue would be appropriately addressed.

Earlier this morning, he received another two emails - each one requesting a sum of $704.00. Now he was pretty sure somebody wasn’t purchasing these items without his permission, partly due to the fact that these guys require payment through check and simply ask you to fill out a form without requiring you to register an account.

He went ahead and gave technical support another call, and demanded answers this time. After advising him they’d put him through to accounts, the lady simply went ahead and decided to hang up on him. After he decided to ring back, this time leaving a message with his phone number, he received a phone call a few minutes later advising him the emails were - please get this - part of a test the IT department was running with their systems.

And these guys aren’t a backyard operation either - they’re actually a multi-million dollar corporation.. Needless to say, I don’t think he’ll ever be heading back there.

Have you had any experiences with companies who pumped out some pathetic excuses? Go ahead and leave a comment, I’d be very interested in hearing what you’ve got to say.

    Checking in…

    Monday, December 17th, 2007

Just checking in to let everyone know I’m working hard on a few things before I resume posting. Aside from the new design, and a few cool widgets (some aren’t visible yet), I’m focusing a lot of energy on the model for the blog.

Things should be up and running very very soon!

    It’s time

    Friday, December 14th, 2007

And just like that - every single post to have ever existed on this blog is forever banished from the virtual world of floating @ symbols and get rich quick money schemes. It’s time for a sweeping change - an exciting change - and dare I say, its time for complete and utter metamorphosis.

The old blog was fantastic, however I thought it was about time I got off my backside and headed into the dreary underground chamber otherwise referred to as my room, and drew up a new game plan. Now before the pitchforks and incredibly over-sized flaming pieces of wood are drawn, I’d like to go ahead and explain what’s kept me in the technological wilderness for so long.

I’ve been hard at work with a family venture, overseeing the strategical direction and ensuring the competitive well-being of the trust. I’d like to write about this later on, however without going into too much detail, and leaving the juicy bits out, I think we’ve managed to progress extremely well, and am personally proud of my efforts. I have also been closely studying and monitoring the property market, in the hope to make several investments in the coming years.

Nothings worse than an empty blog in the form of unused potential. This little piece of philosophy I managed to come up with while staring at my roof, lying in bed at about 4:00AM has gifted me with an image I’d like to bring to life. I want this blog to deliver what the others wont. I want to offer my viewers unique information which may be useful in the enhancement of their websites, profit margin or personal knowledge base.

The best has yet to come.
